This is a landscape format photo of a winter scene taken on an accessible hiking trail after a recent snowfall. The trail is about eight feet wide with trees on both sides. It was taken on a bright day, so shadows can be seen on the snow, which covers the ground. Many of the tree branches are coated with snow, as a freeze occurred after the snowfall of wet snow. Tracks from people walking are visible in this relatively flat section of the trail. This photo definitely has a winter feel to it.

Today I was up early and decided I'd go out in the morning... at 27F. Luckily I got a new hat and a face covering and I was pretty toasty. I went to the Quarry at Grant Park just down the road from Salem lake and went Downtown for a few shots.

I took the Minolta out at Salem lake and got some good shots with it on some Fuji 400. I can't wait to get those back even though I've shot the lake plenty of times, I just have fun with the camera, mostly.

I didn't like my keeps much this time, but I had more fun on the hike. I only kept three, but I do have the film back from around Thanksgiving to go through and there are a few more artsy shots on those as well. Anyway. All for now, tired of the cold, just want it to be spring so I can go out without feeling like I have to "armor up", and there's no colors, really.

En någorlunda molnig solnedgång med en ljusblå himmel som övergår i ljusa gula toner och slutligen varm orange som skymtas. Det är dramatiskt mörka moln som delar upp dom gula och varma tonerna och till höger i bild så ser man siluetten av en gammal skola på fyra våningar. Till höger så ser man siluetter av träd och lyktstolpar, som även skymtas vid horisonten.

I have been trying to take a good picture of the Moon for months, with my DSLR, and have been failing badly.
Using a phone is no good, as it's not possible to put a decent lens on it, plus it's been proven, (apparently), that photos of the Moon taken on smart phones are almost definitely fake.

abeMeda 7.8.7 now also supports imorting WinCatalog XML exports - analog to the already supported catalog formats. You can create reports of your WinCatalog data, and export them to xml - and then import those XML into new catalog files in abeMeda.
And if you still have the original discs and media, you can then connect those imported catalogs to their actual volumes, and update them using their original files - in order to add thumbnails and a lot more data to them that the import can not supply.

Not the best weather to the east tonight. Glad I didn’t make the drive to a planned photo shoot for this last Super Moon of 2025.

This was from just up the street, a bit late but still a good test of a new lens. Took some heavy post processing to bring out the palm tree. Hooray for shooting raw.

with abeMeda 7.8.7 we have now established much better access to the stored data in our catalogs, mainly the stored previews. With the hugely enhanced Photo Export you can now make use of the generated previews, even if the original files may not (or no longer) be available.
And you can of course not only export and convert photos, but many more media files (like videos, audio files' cover art, PDFs, books [ePub] or comics [CBR|CBZ], ...) - any files' previews can also be exported now.
This can be useful if an external storage is temporarily out of reach, or even extremely helpful to salvage files after a data loss, when you have only your catalogs left.

En ocasiones me falta el aire.
Un selfie es una imagen rápida y espontánea de uno mismo.
Un autorretrato tiene una voluntad de reflexión y de autoconocimiento.
En ocasiones tambien busca reflejar algo externo, para lo cual el autor es meramente un modelo o actor que representa un papel. El proceso se convierte así en performativo y la foto es el testigo.

This is an autumn season photo taken in landscape format of a mature deciduous tree with leaves in beautiful colour. The tree's truck is large and it's branches rise majestically upward and outward. The leaves range in colour from yellow to orangish. The sunlight on this day produced a backlighting effect so the colours really "pop". It was taken during a hike in a mature forested area. Many fallen leaves cover the ground as well as the trail's surface. Shadows from the branches can be seen on the ground. The frame is filled with the tree's branches with only glimpses of the sky coming through.

First-off, sorry to anyone seeing this twice for no good reason. There was a reason, a software-related one, but not necessarily good. I lost a few days of posts due to a backup.

Anyhoo, here's the trip to Old Hollow Lake and Salem Lake last week. Man, do I wish I had the original draft for this post so I didn't have to write this out again lol.

I walked 1/3 of the 7 mile hike before my leg started hating me again... but as we all know, going 1/3 in means I had to turn around and take it all back. So, yeah, stubborn me never learns his lesson. I have taken a resolution to completing the 7 mile hike of Salem Lake at some point, but I'll have to return much later, much more prepared and with my leg actually healed.

Anyway, here's the four bests I chose from this trip but like I said when I posted this originally, it was between a few, so, others may trickle in.

There's a... liminal-ness to this that I can't quite place. It's like I'm looking into something that isn't real, but is real. I think it's how I tuned the sky. It looks like a fever dream, in a Vivarium kind of way. Clouds over Salem Lake, fall trees in the background.

You don't have to spend tons of money to go wide on a camera . The 17-35 F2.8-4 is a great lens that covers the entire sensor with only minor vignette up to 19mm - which I find extremely impressive ...

In der den 400 vom . Das ist steinalt und ziemlich , aber nach einem Test mit einem Stück vom Leader habe ich mich schließlich auf 15 Minuten bei den 21°C geeinigt, die heute aus dem Wasserhahn kamen. Das kann sich sehen lassen: Die macht mit dem Standard-f/1,8-Nifty-Fifty sehr schöne Bilder. Und mein "neues" macht erstaunlich gute Fotos von den nassen |en unter der .

어떤 사진가가 캐논은 명부, 백색이 좋다고 했는데 그 말이 맞다. DR이 넓다기 보다는 명부나 밝은 색에서의 처리가 자연스럽다. 색온도로 하면 4000~5000K 부근에서 튀지 않는 일관된 색과 그라데이션이 잘 나온다. 첨부한 사진 같은 환경에서 부드럽게 난색을 처리하는 걸 잘한다.

단점은 역시, 텍스쳐, 질감 표현에 약하다. 암부 노이즈가 올라오기도 하고, 질감 표현만 따지면 풀프 24백만 화소가 마포 17백만 화소랑 별 차이가 없는 수준. 해상력이 뛰어난 단렌즈를 써도 정책적으로 눌렀구나 싶음. 장점을 위해 희생한 부분이기도 하겠지만, 좀 아쉽긴 하지.

A veces me pregunto cuál es el objetivo de quienes enseñamos algo tan normativo y canónico como la historia de la literatura.
La tendencia general es reproducir (acríticamente) el canon sin reconocer que es el conjunto de miradas masculinas cis-euroblancas a través de la historia sobre las mujeres, la naturaleza, la guerra, el amor, etc. Y quien esto hace no repara en que está haciendo el caldo gordo a toda esta tradición casposa que nutre el hispanismo.
Yo intento desestabilizar el canon y que mis estudiantes lean autores de gran valía para sus vidas aunque estén fuera del canon. Busco temas, obras, representaciones de personas racializadas, lejos de la heteronorma, lejos de la identidad nacional euroblanca que destila el anquilosado canon.

All of these photos were taken with me on a Canon EOS R50 with a Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 lens. They were edited by @nycta in Adobe Lightroom

'Echtes Handwerk'

Vor ein paar Jahren durfte ich meine Nachbarn fotografisch beim Brot backen begleiten. Das war großartig. An dem Tag habe ich viele schöne Bilder gemacht. Zwischen den beiden konnte ich mich nicht entscheiden.

Der Blick auf einen Holzofen. Rauch vernebelt den Blick, ein bisschen Glut ist zu erahnen. Werkzeug steht nebendran. Am Bildrand ist ein Wagen mit Brotlaiben.

Leider fehlen in der Spur die ersten paar Grad: ich musste die erste Aufnahme abbrechen und die Kamera neu positionieren, weil plötzlich eine Lampe eingeschaltet werden musste …

, 16 mm F/5.6, Belichtungszeit 2 Minuten, ISO 200; interner Rauschfilter (heiße Pixel durch Dunkelmessung korrigiert); Berarbeitung: JPEG mit leichter Gamma-Korrektur.

Foto, Dorfszene bei Nacht: rechts ein Fachwerkhaus; am fast klaren Himmel viele Sterne mit leichter Erdrotation, dazu ca. mittig und fast senkrecht die Spur der ISS.

Windowsill moth (Phalaenopsis) and christmas (Schlumbergera) are both blooming in white at the same time. The latter clearly didn't get the memo Christmas was over a month ago!

Lenses used were E 100mm f/2.8 and C/D 60-300mm f/4-5.6 MC, both with attached MC7 2x Macro Focusing on a body with X2T in control of two external V860II guns (both with a white diffuser attached).
