The large whites have gotten to my brassicas. I was too slow to cover them, and the rest is history.

Sat out in the garden for lunch and loving the sight of the bramble now fruiting all over the place. We are going to get hundreds of blackberries off this from the looks of things.

This is the garden of a Franciscan convent here in Bologna. It was open during "Diverdeinverde" - where you could visit some.private gardens. Funny thing is, there's a plaque that says this is where the Franciscan sisters come on holiday! I knew Bologna was a tourist destination but not that it was hotspot for the clergy! 😂✨

Les oeillets de poètes sèchent et se gorgent de semences.
Il suffit de les secouer pour les récolter.
Les mettre dans de petits sachets en papier (une feuille pliée suffi) à l'abri de la lumière et de l'humidité.
Plus besoin d'acheter.
Cycle perpétuel, mouvement continu.

Went to the The Hague Japanese garden yesterday, on the grayest day of the week. It did bring out all the greens, but also threw off the iphone’s auto white balance.

The in The Hague is closed again. I managed to squeeze in a brief visit on Friday.

I do wonder if limiting the opening to a few weeks in spring and autumn really works to preserve the garden, or whether it would be better to open it all year round to avoid the twice yearly stampede.

There are Japanese gardens in many major cities that are part of city life and are rarely crowded!
