It is nearly , so here is a very seasonally appropriate target.

is comprised of two parts - there is the , which is a , and the accompanying . For us here in this is a complex - appearing for us in the lead up to Christmas itself.

This is a two and half hour exposure, or 150 frames, at 60s/frame, gain 80, using the inbuilt Ha/OIII filter, shot on a .

Post processing was using Stellar Studio in the app, and .

A bright cluster of stars somewhat resembling a Christmas tree illuminate a patch of nebula near the top centre. At the top of the nebula is a triangular incursion with a red glowing tip. Elsewhere in the shot fainter dust clouds are being illuminated. Text in the corners is replicated in the body text.

A huge crowd gathered around a man on stilts holding 3 flaming torches on St. Patrick Street, Cork in 2006. See how homogeneous the crowd is? A similar photo today would show a much more diverse set of people in modern Ireland.

Bridge Jumping Season

Earlier in the year we went to and it rained.

A very famous scene at Stourhead, photographed from under a tree near the entrance to the walk around the lake. Front left, a bridge, with the central lake extending though 5 visible arches to the narrower inflow in the bottom left corner. In the distance a temple modelled on the Pantheon in Rome, the lake before it, and trees and then sky beyond it. There's a grassy slope in the right foreground, and rain is visible on the water surface.

Reichsburg , a Prussian industrial's historistic wet dream made reality. He rebuilt a destroyed late medieval castle overlooking Cochem will all modern conveniences and filled it with antiques to roleplay an early modern aristocrat during summer holidays.

Big Generator: Cobh’s Night Electric

A big beetle with big antennae.

Look at that beetle climbing up that leaf. It's like the beetle from Alice in Wonderland. Although, I don't remember a beetle there. A good friend, a beetle. He came to visit. It was summer. Culross Palace is a late 16th to early 17th century merchant's house in Culross, Fife, Scotland. The palace, or "Great Lodging", was constructed between 1597 and 1611 by Sir George Bruce, the Laird of Carnock.

🌻✨ Creating a scene between an acorn-bodied Becorn and a flower fairy took artist David M Bird an entire summer of failed attempts.

wilt, petals lack structure, eyes need lashes, and getting a droplet to look perfect requires culinary . His final , after four flower character iterations, shows a kneeling Becorn presenting a water droplet to a Dahlia queen – a testament to creative projects happening through repeated failure and adaptation.

The bridges over the Forth are very photogenic at any time of day, but at dusk as a sunset starts, the bridge lights up and I think I managed to catch a pretty good shot.

A June Day At The Lake ... Sunlight filters through the leaves of tall trees, casting dappled shadows on a lush, green landscape beside a serene lake at Caledonia State Park in Fayetteville, PA. Soft hues of pink and yellow wildflowers contrast with the vibrant greens and blues, capturing the essence of a tranquil and idyllic June day. Located between Gettysburg and Chambersburg within view of the northern Blue Ridge Mountain System, Caledonia State Park is a lovely spot to picnic, canoe and hike, and just take in the beauty of the day. Lovely in all seasons of the year. A June Day At The Lake is a spring / summer version of a previously uploaded image, "Autumn Grove," which is also available in my collections here. As our home repair project stretches inexplicably into a second year I realize that one day I’m going to miss our stripey phase, in which my wife and her sisters tried and rejected various color schemes last summer. June 19, 2025. Wolverine Lake, .

Also, please take a moment to appreciate the spectacular rose bush in the front of the red front door to the left of the house. The rose bush is a carpet of red roses surrounding by white flowers from the ground cover. It’s overgrown and my wife frets that it’s a mess, but, man, that is some rose bush!

On the theme of , we’ve adopted our winged friends’ philosophy: there’s no such thing as too much colour!

Grevillea Bon Accord (Grevillea johnsonii x wilsonii 'Bon Accord') Native medium-large flowering shrub with nectar-rich vibrant red-pink flowers, which form in winter and bloom through spring and early summer. Leaves are long, fine and slender, bronze when new. It is a hybrid of west coast and east coast species, which gives it more resilience and adaptability to different climates. Blueberry Ash - Elaeocarpus Prima Donna (Elaeocarpus reticulatus Sm.) Masses of small pinkish flowers are arranged in rows along the branchlets of this large coastal bush or small rainforest tree. Their fruit is a stunning shade of bright blue, resembling small olives. They attract birds like the Regent Bowerbird that collect them for their blue colour. We live under the flight path of wildlife traveling between native forests in . At midsummer, these creatures are all very busy feeding on, pollinating, propagating (through excreting seeds), and regenerating not only the great native forests, but many private gardens.

Midsummer Visitors #1 Flying-Fox, (suborder Yinpterochiroptera) a genus of megabats (also known as fruit bats) are the largest members of the bat family. They are nomadic mammals that travel across large areas of Australia, feeding on native blossoms and fruits, spreading seeds and pollinating native plants. They feed mainly at night on nectar, pollen and fruit and will also feed on flowering and fruiting plants in gardens and orchards. They are vital to the health and regeneration of Australian native forests because they can transport pollen over vast distances and are also able to disperse larger seeds. Flying-fox mothers typically give birth to one baby every year. Newborns are entirely dependent on their mothers in the first few months of life. They cling to her when she flies out from camp to feed at night. Of the tree flying-fox species found in NSW (Black, Little Red and Grey-headed), the Grey-headed flying-fox is the most vulnerable species because it competes with humans for prime coastal habitat along the south-east Queensland, NSW and Victorian coasts.
