“Sunset on Lake Nakuru's flooded trees”

There are many lakes along the length of the African Rift Valley, which runs from the Red Sea in the north to Mozambique in the south. Kenya’s eastern Rift Valley has a string of eight lakes.

The Rift Valley is subject to ongoing plate tectonics and crustal movement that can affect the lakes. The recent rises, though, are directly associated with above-average rainfall. The lakes have been even higher in the past, and with rainfall in the Rift Valley Basin being on a rising rainfall trend, higher lake levels can be expected in the future.

Lakes Nakuru, Bogoria, and Baringo have risen to their highest levels in decades, inundating roads and building infrastructure, yet they also are not as high as they were in the early part of the last century.

On The Left Side It Has Vertical Concrete Pillars That Allow The Jetty To Rise And Fall With The Tide. Moored At The End And On The Right Side Is A Catamaran, Bows Facing Towards The Camera, Its Mast Nearly Touching The Top Of The Photo. Krkrkr, la tête du moine qui vient de regrimper sur sa montagne quand il réalise qu'il a oublié le ! 😉

Pour ceux qui veulent l'admirer de près, il trône dans l' permanente "Sociétés" au des Confluences.
La statue de cet ascète provient du (fin époque Muromachi, époque de Momoyama, XVIe s).

Photographie numérique couleur de format portrait, avec une statue de moine dans une vitrine, où on voit l'ombre de l'objet sous son socle et le fond en bois clair. Il y a des reflets d'éclairages dans la vitre. Le moine est assis en tailleur avec la jambe droite repliée sur la gauche. Il porte un vêtement de couleur saumon pâle avec des motifs de fleurs grises et jaunes. Son visage exprime de la tristesse, voire de la colère : froncils froncés, bouche serrée et mécontente. Le vêtement est ouvert sur son torse où ses côtes sont saillantes. Sa main droite est posée sur son torse, la droite est repliée le long de son corps.

If you're thinking, "I've seen these before," you're right. I was on a pleasant little photo walk with @Vulpy on Sunday. Since his beautiful version of these stalks is very dark, I decided for a highkey approach and tidied up the area a bit. 😉

Thank you all who sent me sweet messages when beloved Drake died in early June. It was a very rough time for me. But after the Buddhist 49-day mourning period was over, my need to become a dad again for the unfortunate grew strong.
Here, meet Kengo. A mutt, estimated to be 6-7 years old, spent 8 months in a shelter, put on the death row, a rescue group pulled him out in time. I hope he and I will have a happy next chapter together.

'dusk paining A66-II-4'

I'm really happy about the results of my evening trip to the motorway bridge a few days ago. This one's my favourite. I love the colours and shapes.
BTW: It's more or less straight out of camera. I just cut it to square format and pushed saturation and contrast. That's all.

The quadratic crop shows a closeup of the portafilter of a Faema E61 group from which dark brown espresso coffee is just pouring out. To the left and right the unsharp chromium surface of the group can be seen. The view angle towards this "coffeefall" is about 45° left from the straight view. The background is unsharp. The new year of 2023 has arrived on earth (not yet here in US). This was the first sunrise of the year on January 1, 2012 on the beach of St. George Island in FL, USA. It was the happiest time in life for me, so even 11 years later, I still treasure the beautiful view. (Shot on Canon PowerShot G10).

I got invited to dance
